This site is a tribute to David, our Dad.
For those of you who don't know, Dementia took our Mum a year ago. She fought it for two years with my Dad's help, but inevitably it got the better of her in the end.
Since her death, our Dad spiralled downwards with sadness and depression; 2023 would have been their 60th wedding year. Then on 2nd April, 2 weeks and 4 days before the anniversary of Mum's passing, he died of a broken heart. He was sat where she used to sit in the lounge. He never could bring himself to scatter her ashes, so she was with him when he died. In a way Dementia just claimed another victim.
During my Mum's battle with this disease, it became apparent how little financial support there is for research in combating the many forms of Alzheimer's or Dementia. This particular fact really upset my Dad and played on his mind until the very end.
So in memory of our two very loving, supporting and very patient parents, can you please give what you can. Flowers are nice but are such a waste of money.
Thank you to everyone who reads this and supports the cause, you could be making a huge difference in someone's life. I can assure you I wouldn't want anyone to go through what we have been through in the past three years.
We have fond memories of evenings out with David and Gloria, how Gloria loved to dance! Dave was an inspiration and a lovely man. Our thoughts are with you all. Love Barry and Gill
